Every day throughout Advent we are pleased to offer you a little Advent treat. Today is ‘Lullaby Day’, beginning with “Myn Lyking”. This is an ancient carol written and sung in medieval English. Please don’t be put off by the spellings in the text as it scrolls. Just listen and you’ll hear the story of a young mother singing to her infant son – ‘myn lyking’ can be thought of as ‘my lovely’ – known to us as King of kings and Lord of lords. Afterwards we are pleased to offer you Maggie’s Music Makers singing “Silent Night”.
