December letter from our Primary School

St Margaret’s CE update… School enjoyed a lovely Harvest Service held in school (originally planned to be in church but torrential rainfall stopped that occurring!) in October. School would like to say a huge thank you to Reverend Sue, who came and delivered a lovely service. Our school community were extremely generous with donations for the Porch Box charity, which the church is supporting this year. If you would like to visit our website www.stmargarets.co.uk you will be able to see the pictorial evidence of the Harvest Assembly and amazing donations.

We were fortunate to have a visit by the Assistant Director of Education of the Manchester Diocese (Terry Hart), who was very complimentary of the school, stating it had a lovely and caring atmosphere. He commended all the staff who helped showcase the Christian Distinctiveness throughout school. He clearly saw our values permeating through everything we do, and the love shown to all, enabling all the school community to flourish.

School is excited about having our first Christmas Carol Service since the pandemic at St Margaret’s church on Monday 12th December. Hopefully, many of you will be able to come and join us in the day and celebrate alongside us. Children are learning songs, through the expertise of Carol Porter, who has supported us superbly with our singing development at school. Our Ethos team will be reading in the service along with or Head Boy and Girl.

Finally, I would like to wish all of you a peaceful and happy Christmas. Keep safe and take care of yourselves and your families.

Mr Longworth.
