St Margaret’s Pre-School

St. Margaret’s Pre-School is a caring, friendly setting offering sessional care for all children aged from 2 1/2 to 4 years of age. It is approved by Ofsted and was established in 1964.

We aim to provide a safe environment where children can learn through play. Their self-confidence and independence will develop during their pre-school time with us.

We provide a wide range of activities and skills to give children a rounded experience and to cater for all needs. All activities are planned to follow children’s needs within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The EYFS is the national curriculum followed by all children who attend Ofsted approved providers from birth to the end of the reception year at school.

Throughout all our activities we encourage a multicultural aspect and adhere to our Single Equalities Policy and procedures.

Starting Pre-School

Our Pre-School is open to all children aged from 2 1/2 years to 4 years of age. Children usually start in the term in which they celebrate their third birthday. We have a waiting list and follow our admissions policy.

We welcome a visit from you and your child prior to their start date in order for you to become more familiar with the staff and setting

Pre-School managers— Gillian and Jackie, are always available to speak to parents/carers and answer any queries or concerns no matter how small.

Staff at St. Margaret’s Pre-School hold relevant and appropriate qualifications.

As we are Ofsted approved we are able to claim Free Early Education Entitlement (FEEE) Funding for all children from the term after their third birthday.

We accept children in receipt of 2 year old funding.

We are a member of the Pre-School Learning Alliance and are Ofsted approved. We were most recently inspected by Ofsted in November 2013 when we were rated Good with Outstanding aspects.
