Mamta’s Placement with us

Hello everyone, my name is Mamta, I come from a beautiful town of Mussoorie situated in North India.

My parents worked with American missionaries who used to run a lovely charity home for the poor and for children whose parents were affected by leprosy.

Me and my two siblings were privileged to be able to grow up in a Christian household meaning going to church every Sunday, attending Sunday School and vacation Bible clubs. All these amazing opportunities were a crucial part of our upbringing.

I was in my teens when we moved to Chandigarh and that’s where I completed my education.

l started working at a retail outlet, where I met my loving husband. He was from a different community and different faith, but God miraculously worked in his life and he surrendered himself to the love of Christ and within 2 years he took baptism and became a devoted follower of Jesus.

After a bit of struggle we had a grand wedding, surrendering ourselves to God’s mercy. However, after marriage we both had to face greater challenges due to our faith in Christ.

Clashes of different religions and beliefs had become a problem between our families.

Amidst these problems we welcomed our first child and named him Eli but despite our best-efforts things didn’t work well for us, so in 2011 we decided to move to UK which was one of the biggest decisions.

It meant leaving our families, friends, and our home which was not at all easy, but we knew God was looking after us every step of the way. Even though we faced real hardships here in the UK, our faith stayed unshakeable because God worked in our lives in amazing ways, and we received another amazing blessing in 2015, our little boy Sammy, who filled our lives with so much love.

I always had a deep desire to serve God but was lost and couldn’t think of a way, that’s when I met Rev Daniel, he kindly guided me towards the foundation for ministry course, and I learnt numerous things, and I was able to understand the reason why God had called me. God was calling me to serve him and his people, and now I am taking this beautiful journey, and I truly hope God will use me to serve him and his people in the best way possible.
