This contribution to our summer series of visits to other churches is from Rev Debby.
Jeremy and I have been on a Saga “Best of British” circuit of the UK. On the only rainy day (is that a record for Britain?!), a group of us had a fleeting visit to the little Church of Scotland cathedral in Royal Dornoch, where the minister is Chaplain to the Queen when she is in Scotland. I enjoyed this window of St Margaret – not our St Margaret of Antioch but Queen of Scotland. The inn sign at the “Maggie’s” on Bury Old Road is actually her. Here she is with her husband King Malcolm III and she is teaching him to read the bible. Women’s ministry from the 11th century!
