In the UK, today is known as Boxing Day, the day upon which the Lords and Ladies of the parish would dispense Christmas ‘boxes’ to their staff, tenants, and the less well off. Elsewhere it is known as St Stephen’s Day. We mark this 2nd Day of Christmas musically with our choir singing “Good King Wenceslas”, which is set on St Stephen’s Day. Carol and Tom will then sing for us “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year”, and then the choir sings for us about a gifts given on the second day of Christmas.
