At St Margaret’s, the last weekend in June each year is Anniversary Weekend, when we celebrate the contribution our children make to life and worship in our parish.
On Anniversary Sunday we had a special service in which the singing talents of the Sunday School children were showcased.
Aiden led us all in the Peruvian Gloria, and then the children sang the Gradual for us – “If I Were a Butterfly”. They sang “Song of Blessing” before receiving their book prizes, and then “End of Year Blessing”. As a special treat they taught the congregation “Allelu, Allelu” – with standing and sitting actions! During communion we were treated to a lovely setting of The Lord’s Prayer, which you can see here:
During the afternoon there was a barbecue and family games on the vicarage lawn. A good time was had by all!
