July letter to the parish

July 1, 2025

This month’s letter comes from Rev Steve: I begin and end each day alone with the 23rd Psalm.  It may seem over-familiar to you.  But the words lead me to the one who, in turbulent and chaotic circumstances, somehow has the power to reach beyond them – and guide,  accompany and protect me.  The Hebrew … More July letter to the parish

The gift of peace – but not as the world gives.

May 26, 2025

Rev Sue preached this sermon on Sunday 25 May 2025. Here it is for you again: I read this quotation from CS Lewis many decades ago, but it has stuck firmly in my mind. Alleluia Christ is Risen. He is Risen indeed. Alleluia!! That first announcement of the Resurrection of Jesus at the Easter vigil. Jesus is dead, he’s descended into hell. April Letter from the Clergy

April 1, 2025

This month’s letter comes from Rev Sue: Harold Wilson famously said, “A week is a long time in politics,” meaning that someone might be popular in the polls today, but things could be very different a week later. That was certainly true for Jesus. Only four days after he rode into Jerusalem to shouts of … More April Letter from the Clergy
