History of St Margaret’s #2

By the 1890’s St. Margaret’s Churchyard which was over 70 yards from the main Bury Road was bound East, West and South by fields and there was an uninterrupted view of the Church. In the year 1900 the South side was divided into building plots and a Street named Carver Avenue. The Avenue was made from Bury Old Road, running by the side of the Churchyard to the park wall. It was feared that more houses would be built on the land between the church and Bury Old Road and so block the view of the church from the main road … More History of St Margaret’s #2

Celtic Spirituality

So, let’s begin.  Who remembers the power cuts? no lights, no T.V.s, but torches and candles handy in nearly every room at night … More Shine a Light

Ecclesiology

The world in which the church now exists is radically different from that in which it was founded. Pope Francis went on to say, “The church’s pastoral ministry cannot be obsessed with the transmission of a disjointed multitude of doctrines to be imposed insistently” – he clearly believes that the Church must speak to the hearts of individuals, as Jesus did, not to condemn, but to support and show all the way of salvation … More Ecclesiology
