School hopes all St Margaret’s parishioners are safe, well and flourishing and coping well in this extreme heat we are currently having! We hope you are enjoying summer as much as school is, with the vibrant and beautiful colours of summer flourishing and seeing everyone ‘Live Life in all its fullness.’
St Margaret’s will be welcoming our new Headteacher from September, Miss Whiteside. She will take over writing articles for your Parish Magazine and I wanted to thank Dr Porter for the opportunity to contribute to the magazine this year. I hope you have enjoyed the updates to what has been happening at life at St Margaret’s.
Other news involving staff at St Margaret’s includes, Mrs Cleary, who will be retiring after 32 years teaching at school. She has had a fabulous and tireless devotion to school and the community and we all wish her the best for her retirement. Also, Mr Perry is leaving us at the end of this year and I wish him all the success for his future teaching career.
School has a busy final few weeks of term, which will involve many fun and exciting activities. Year 6 will be having their Leavers Service at Manchester Cathedral on Wednesday 21st June led by Rt Reverend Mark Davies. School will also be coming to St Margaret’s church on on Wednesday 19th July at 1.30pm to come to have an ‘everyone moving on service’, weather permitting.
Other activities in school involve Sports Days, class trips and our Summer Fair on Friday June 30th 2.30pm – 5.30pm where everyone is welcome. Fingers crossed for good weather, but not quite as hot! Unfortunately, there are no photos to show the work going on at school, but our new caretaker, Ray Price has made wonderful flower boxes at the entrance of school and it looks a lot more welcoming and inviting when walking up the path!
Finally, keep safe and take care of yourselves and your families. I would like to leave you with a scripture from the bible which resonates with so many of our school community ‘Above all love each other deeply.’ (1 Peter 4:8)
Mr Longworth
