October’s Letter from the Vicar

October 5, 2021

In a museum, many years ago, there was an amazing exhibit. It was a tiny globe, just a few feet in diameter, yet it held so much mystery and so much beauty within it that people travelled for miles and miles, just to see it. There were always crowds around it and queues lined up, patiently waiting for their turn to view the wonder … More October’s Letter from the Vicar

September 21, 2021

The theme of our retreat at Parcivall Hall this year was ‘On Holiday with God’. Although God is with us at all times and we do not need to ‘go on holiday with God’, a retreat is the opportunity to put aside time specifically to be with God … More On Holiday with God

A Time for Creation

September 6, 2021

This September we are doing things a little differently. We, with many churches of many denominations throughout the world, are celebrating the season of creation. It runs for the four Sundays of September, and then culminates in the Harvest Festival the first week of October … More A Time for Creation

It’s all about perspective

September 6, 2021

In 1989 Stephen Covey published his book the seven habits of highly effective people. It sold more than 25 million copies and has become a “Bible” among self-help books. I have a feeling that, in fact, everything he wrote about could be found in the actual Bible, which has been offering practical wisdom for two millennia … More It’s all about perspective

August 29 Trinity 13 Clean Inside and Out

August 29, 2021

What image comes to your mind when you think of someone or something that’s really clean inside and out? For me it is the image of a baby/child at their Baptism. They are brought to the font with a clean heart and are baptised with Holy Water in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit … More August 29 Trinity 13 Clean Inside and Out
